Governor Greg Abbott has announced the reappointment of Jon Keeney to the Board of Pilot Commissioners for Harris County Ports. Keeney's term will extend until February 1, 2027. The board holds exclusive jurisdiction over pilot services in Harris County, including vessel stops and landing places on navigable streams within its area.

Jon Keeney is currently serving as the mayor of Taylor Lake Village. He also serves as a trustee for the Gulf Coast Rail District and has previously been a member of the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy. His past roles include chairing boards at the Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD, Interfaith Caring Ministries, and Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. Keeney holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Nuclear Engineering from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and a Master of Arts in Psychology from the University of Houston-Clear Lake.
