Congresswoman Monica De La Cruz has reached out to the newly confirmed Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, extending her congratulations and inviting her to South Texas. The invitation aims for Secretary Noem to engage directly with local families, farmers, and Border Patrol agents in the border community.

In her letter, De La Cruz expressed optimism about Secretary Noem's confirmation: "Congratulations on your swift confirmation. After four years of open borders and weak federal immigration enforcement, it is encouraging to finally have a Secretary of Homeland Security who is serious about putting the safety and security of Americans first."

Highlighting the challenges faced by her district, De La Cruz wrote: "I represent a district right on the Texas border with Mexico. With your confirmation, many of my constituents are now breathing a sigh of relief. These communities have been terrorized over the past four years by a constant flow of drug smuggling and human trafficking."

She extended an official invitation for Noem to visit: "On behalf of the 15th congressional district of Texas, I would like to extend an invitation to South Texas where you can hear from the families, farmers, and Border Patrol agents victimized by President Biden's open-border policies."

De La Cruz concluded with a note on future collaboration: "I look forward to working with you to keep South Texas and the nation safe."
