Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Aaron Rolen and Jason E. Spencer to the Sulphur River Basin Authority Board of Directors. Their terms will expire on February 1, 2029. The board is tasked with managing operations related to the Sulphur River and its tributaries, including controlling water distribution and flood management.

Aaron Rolen from Bogata is an attorney and director at the Basset Firm. He holds memberships in several organizations, including the State Bar of Texas and the Arkansas Bar Association. His educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science from Dakota Wesleyan University and a Juris Doctor from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law.

Jason E. Spencer from Avinger serves as president and executive director of Avinger Economic Development Corporation. He has a military background, having served in the United States Navy for 23 years before retiring as a Commander. Spencer earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting, a Master of Professional Accountancy from UT Austin, and a Master of Science in Management from the United States Naval Postgraduate School.

The appointments require confirmation by the Senate.
