Governor Abbott appoints members to Family and Protective Services Council

Governor Greg Abbott has made appointments to the Family and Protective Services Council, naming Tymothy Belseth as a new member and reappointing Julie Krawczyk and Enrique Mata. These appointments are set for terms expiring on February 1, 2031. The Council's role is to provide guidance to the commissioner on managing and operating the Department of Family and Protective Services.

Tymothy Belseth from Pflugerville is currently leading the UT Spark Program. He serves on several boards, including FosterClub Board of Directors, Education Reach for Texans Board of Directors, and Change I Board of Directors. Additionally, he contributes to the Supreme Court of Texas – Children’s Commission training committee. Belseth holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Texas A&M University Kingsville and a Master of Arts in Political Science from Texas State University.

Julie Krawczyk from Garland is the director at The Senior Source's Elder Financial Safety program. She also presides over the Adult Protective Services of Dallas Community Board and serves as vice-president on the Texas Partners of Adult Protective Services state board. Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and English from Southern Vermont College and a Master of Arts in Management from Dallas Baptist University.

Enrique Mata hails from El Paso and acts as executive director at Meadows Mental Health Policy Institute's Paso del Norte Center. Previously, he was senior program officer with Paso del Norte Health Foundation. Mata holds certifications as an advanced public health nurse and advanced nurse executive through the American Nurses Credentialing Center. His affiliations include membership in the American Nurses Association, Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society, and UT El Paso Alumni Association. He also advises on the UT El Paso School of Nursing Advisory Board and participates in the El Paso Behavioral Health Consortium. Mata earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from UT El Paso along with a Master of Science in Public Health from Walden University.
