Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Patrick "Pat" Frost to the Board of Trustees for the Employees Retirement System of Texas (ERS). Frost's term will last until August 31, 2030. The ERS Board is responsible for managing a public pension system that benefits employees and retirees of Texas state agencies. It also provides health insurance coverage to certain employees and retirees.
Frost, who hails from San Antonio, recently retired after a four-decade career with Frost Bank. He holds memberships in several organizations, including the Philosophical Society of Texas and Phi Beta Kappa Society. His roles extend to being on the boards of various groups such as the Texas Cultural Trust Board of Directors and the San Antonio Independent School District Foundation Advisory Council. He is also involved with The University of Texas at San Antonio Roadrunner Foundation Board.
His leadership experience includes chairing the Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce and serving as president for both the NCAA Men’s Final Four Local Organizing Committee and the San Antonio Livestock Exposition. Additionally, he is a director at Mi Tierra Corporation, serves on the board for CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Children’s Hospital, and was previously president of the San Antonio Rotary Club.
Frost's academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Vanderbilt University and an MBA from UT Austin.
The appointment awaits confirmation by the Senate.
