Governor Greg Abbott has expressed his support for President Donald Trump's recent joint address to Congress. In a statement released after the address, Governor Abbott praised the President's accomplishments during his first seven weeks in office.
"Tonight, President Donald Trump laid out the bold and historic accomplishments that he and his Administration achieved in less than two months," Abbott stated. He highlighted Trump's efforts to reduce government bureaucracy and attract significant investments, which he believes have led to a resurgence in U.S. manufacturing.
Abbott also commended Trump's approach to immigration, criticizing former President Joe Biden's policies for creating an "unprecedented illegal immigration crisis." He cited the tragic case of 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray from Houston as an example of the consequences of these policies. According to Abbott, under Trump’s leadership, illegal border crossings have decreased significantly.
The Governor emphasized Texas' ongoing cooperation with federal efforts on border security and law enforcement operations aimed at managing immigration issues.
"President Trump’s vision for the next four years is clear," said Abbott, expressing his eagerness to collaborate with the administration to further American interests.
