According to Teach For America, the Texas Education Symposium featured discussions and workshops focused on advancing educational equity. Key figures such as CEO Elisa Villanueva Beard and Houston Independent School District Superintendent Mike Miles participated. Representatives from organizations like Strive Network, Texas 2036, Skew the Script, Leadership for Educational Equity, Houston Endowment, Teach Plus, Texas Education Agency, Good Reason Houston, San Antonio Early Matters, and Avance also contributed. Participants examined issues including school funding, math education, early childhood learning, and teacher pipeline challenges while engaging in networking and collaborative workshops.
"The symposium provided attendees with the opportunity to explore the significant progress made in Texas education while identifying areas for improvement," said Ana Gonzalez, Executive Director of Teach For America Rio Grande Valley. She emphasized ensuring that every student across the state is on a clear path toward economic mobility by 2030.
