Texas has maintained its position as the leading state in job creation for the third consecutive year. According to data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Texas added 284,200 nonfarm jobs from December 2023 to December 2024, surpassing all other states.
Governor Greg Abbott highlighted this achievement, stating, "Texas is America’s undisputed jobs leader." He attributed this success to the state's business-friendly environment and commitment to education and career training. "As a result, more Texans are working than ever before in the history of our great state," Abbott noted.
Abbott emphasized the role of entrepreneurs and innovators in driving job growth and expressed plans to work with the Texas Legislature to continue fostering a strong economic environment. He said, "By unleashing the power of entrepreneurs and innovators and investing in education excellence and career training, we will remain the national leader in job creation."
The governor also celebrated 2024 as a record-breaking year for employment figures in Texas, highlighting increases in total jobs, workforce participation, and labor force size.
