Governor Abbott appoints Paul E. Mansur as Yoakum County criminal district attorney

Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Paul E. Mansur as the new Yoakum County Criminal District Attorney. The term for this position will expire on December 31, 2026, or until a successor is elected and qualified.

Paul E. Mansur hails from Denver City and currently practices law privately. He holds memberships in several legal associations including the State Bar of Texas, Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, and the Brownfield Bar Association. Previously, he was part of the Lubbock Criminal Defense Lawyers Association.

Mansur's community involvement includes serving as a board member for both the Seminole Chamber of Commerce and Denver City Chamber of Commerce, as well as participating in the Denver City United Fund. Additionally, he served as a Scoutmaster for Boy Scouts of America Troop 777.

His educational background includes a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Taxation from Baylor University, along with a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Houston Law Center.

The appointment requires confirmation by the Senate.
