Governor Abbott appoints John Asel to Alamo Regional Mobility Authority

Governor Greg Abbott has appointed John Asel as the presiding officer of the Alamo Regional Mobility Authority (RMA). Asel's term will end on February 1, 2026. The RMA is a political subdivision that collaborates with state authorities to enhance transportation infrastructure projects in Bexar County.

John Asel, who resides in Helotes, serves as chairman and managing member of Asel & Associates, PLLC. This firm is a full-service licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) company based in San Antonio. With over 30 years of experience in Texas, Asel holds membership in both the Texas Society of CPAs and the American Institute of CPAs. He earned his Bachelor of Accountancy from New Mexico State University.

The appointment awaits confirmation by the Senate.
