Houston Firefighters Relief and Retirement Fund Budget and Audit Committee met Nov. 19.

A meeting of the Budget and Audit Committee of the Houston Firefighters’ Relief and Retirement Fund convened at the Fund offices at 4225 Interwood North Parkway on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at 9:53 a.m.
Committee members present were Pete Ng (Chair), Brett R. Besselman, David O. Lantrip, Lisa R. Slagle, Arif Rasheed (City Treasurer Designee), and Gerard L. Daniels (alternate committee member). Also present were Trustees Edward Llewelyn, Albertino Mays, and staff members Timothy Schauer (Executive Director), Claudia McInnis (Director of Finance and Administration), Dalia De La Cruz (Director of Member Services), Andrea Sharayha (Director of Human Resources), John D. Moore II (Director of Technology and Building Services), and Adam Smith (General Counsel).
The Committee Chair called the meeting to order at 9:53 a.m. and invited comments from the public. No comments were received.
The Director of Finance and Administration reviewed the first quarter Fiscal year 2025 Fund expenses in comparison to the budget, noting the overall expenses currently under budget.
Brett R. Besselman, with additional comments from the Director of Finance and Administration, reviewed the reallocation of funds within the Administrative, Capital and Conference Center budgets for FY 2025.
The meeting adjourned at 10:11 a.m. on a motion by Lisa R. Slagle, seconded by David O. Lantrip. The motion carried.
