Houston's Mayor John Whitmire addressed the community following a shooting incident involving a police officer. According to the mayor, the officer was injured while responding to a home invasion. The officer is currently receiving medical care at Memorial Hermann Hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.

The event took place on Alderney Drive, near Antoine Drive, where police detained two individuals. Authorities are actively searching for a third suspect involved in the incident.

Mayor Whitmire expressed his appreciation for the efforts of first responders, stating: "I extend my deepest gratitude to our brave first responders, who put their lives on the line daily to keep our community safe. Their dedication and sacrifice do not go unnoticed."
