Today, H.R. 7377 - The Royalty Resiliency Act, which provides financial relief to exploration and production companies operating on federal lands, has passed the Senate. Congressman Wesley Hunt introduced the act earlier this year, and it passed the United States House of Representatives on July 22nd with bipartisan support.

"The Royalty Resiliency Act is a tremendous step in the right direction for America’s oil and gas industry to ensure their resources and capital are not tied up in administrative bureaucratic processes," said Congressman Hunt. "Once signed into law, this unleashed capital will be directed towards additional energy projects, additional employees, and invested back into the American economy thereby reducing energy prices."

"I am extraordinarily grateful to my colleagues in the Senate for the swift passage of my bill and I urge President Biden to sign this truly bipartisan piece of legislation immediately," he added.

New Mexico Democrat Congresswoman Teresa Leger Fernandez also praised the act: "Not many oil and gas bills make it through the Natural Resources Committee by unanimous consent to the floor on suspension. I commend [Representative Hunt] for working on this reasonable technical fix that has the support of the Biden Administration."

Rep. Hunt expressed gratitude for Chairman Westerman, Senator Barrasso, and Senator Manchin for their support in crafting what he described as "the most pro-oil and gas legislation that will be signed into law during the 118th Congress."
