Southwest Management District Board of Directors met Aug. 26.
Here is the agenda provided by the board:
1. Determine quorum; call meeting to order.
2. Receive public comments. (A statement of no more than 3 minutes may be made on items of general relevance. There will be no yielding of time to another person. State law prohibits the Board Chair or members of the Board from commenting on any statement or engaging in dialogue without an appropriate agenda item being posted in accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Law. Comments should be directed to the entire Board, not individual members. 6. Consider order to remove properties from the District.
7. Receive update from the Comprehensive Planning Study.
8. Receive update from Business & Economic Development Committee.
a. Consider proposal from Upstanding Enterprises, LLC to design the district’s website.
b. Consider proposal from Cracked Fox for the creative support and logo rebranding.
c. Consider B.I.G. Application request from Harwin Wholesale Plaza at 8000 Harwin Dr. Ste. 535.
d. Consider sponsorship request from Chinese Civic Center for its 2024 Annual Mid-Autumn Festival at the Board meeting.
e. Consider sponsorship request from Mayor’s Assistance Office for its 7th Annual Senior Luncheon on September 19, 2024, and the 15th Annual Spark of Love Toy Event on December 21, 2024.
f. Consider sponsorship request from Chinese Community Center for its 2025 Lunar New Year on February 01, 2025, at 9800 Town Park Drive Houston, TX 77036.
g. Consider sponsorship request from the Houston Double Ten Celebration Committee for its 113th National Day Celebration for ROC of Taiwan.
h. Consider sponsorship request from BakerRipley for its Taste of BakerRipley on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at BakerRipley Gulfton Sharpstown Campus.
i. Consider placing an ad with Houston Yellow Pages.
9. Receive and consider updates from Environmental & Urban Design Committee.
a. Consider sponsorship request for Big Wall Big Dreams.
b. Consider proposal from SMC Landscape Services for the graffiti abatement program.
c. Consider price increase from East End Management District for the Field Service Inspection.
10. Receive Executive Director’s Report.
