Governor Greg Abbott issued a proclamation today announcing that the special election for Texas House District 56 will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. This election aims to fill the unexpired term in the Texas House of Representatives.

Candidates seeking to appear on the special election ballot must submit their applications to the Secretary of State by 6:00 PM on Thursday, August 22, 2024. Early voting is scheduled to commence on Monday, October 21, 2024.
