Normandy, France – On the 80th anniversary of D-Day, U.S. Congressman Michael McCaul (R-Texas), chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, met with World War II veterans in Normandy. Rep. McCaul is part of a bipartisan congressional delegation observing the anniversary alongside veterans and their families, active-duty service members, government and military officials, and foreign dignitaries.

“As the son of a B-17 bombardier, I’m incredibly humbled to meet and thank several living WWII veterans — men and women who risked everything to save the free world, just like my father did,” said Rep. McCaul. "The eyes of the world were upon these brave soldiers as they rushed the beaches of Normandy, prepared to die so that freedom could live on. May we never forget the sacrifice of the Greatest Generation.”
