Southwest Management District Board of Directors met April 22.
Here is the agenda provided by the board:
1. Determine quorum; call meeting to order.
2. Receive public comments. (A statement of no more than 3 minutes may be made on items of general relevance. There will be no yielding of time to another person. State law prohibits the Board Chair or members of the Board from commenting on any statement or engaging in dialogue without an appropriate agenda item being posted in accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Law. Comments should be directed to the entire Board, not individual members. Engaging in verbal attacks or comments intended to insult, abuse, malign, or slander any individual shall be cause for termination of time privileges).
3. Approve Minutes of meeting held March 22, 2024.
4. Receive updates and recommendations from the Finance Committee.
a. Receive Assessment Collection Report.
b. Receive monthly financial reports and approve payment of invoices.
5. Receive and complete the Benchmarking the Mission.
6. Receive updates and recommendations from the Business and Economic Development Committee.
a. Consider hiring a district intern; to authorize the negotiation and execution of contract.
b. Consider District J’s Neighborhood Service Program.
c. Consider District J’s Public Service Announcement Campaign.
d. Consider a sponsorship request from the Houston Citizens’ Police Academy for its Hydrate the Officers Program.
e. Consider a sponsorship request from the Taiwanese Community Center for its Mazu parade on May 19, 2024.
f. Consider a sponsorship request from Teo Chew Temple Association for its 42nd Anniversary and 21st Board of Directors Inauguration on May 05, 2024.
g. Consider purchasing district hats.
7. Receive updates from the Public Safety Committee.
8. Receive updates from the Environmental and Urban Design Committee.
a. Consider SMC Landscape work order for tree planting and watering.
b. Consider SMC Landscape work order for power washing Gandhi Monument.
c. Consider SMC Landscape work order for replanting of damaged plants in the district.
d. Consider replacing the “Next Exit” signs.
9. Receive Executive Director’s Report.
10. Adjourn.
