HISD to Host Campus Hiring Event April 20

The HISD Teacher Recruitment and Selection Team is gearing up to host a Campus Hiring Event on April 20, as announced by the organization. Educators from kindergarten to 12th grade are encouraged to attend the event at Delmar Fieldhouse in Houston, Texas, to learn more about the opportunities available within Team HISD.

According to the event details, starting teacher salaries vary based on school levels and whether they are at Non-NES or NES schools. For Non-NES schools, the starting salary is $64,000, while NES schools offer different rates: $75,435 for Elementary, $80,059 for Middle, and $82,816 for High schools. Special education teachers can expect salaries of $80,000 in Non-NES schools and $86,000 in NES schools, with an additional $5,000 bilingual stipend.

The event is open to various position types, including teachers, assistant principals, counselors, librarians/media specialists, nurses, office support staff, teacher assistants, teacher apprentices, and learning coaches.

External applicants are required to complete an online application and certain steps before attending the event to ensure a smooth hiring process. On the other hand, internal HISD applicants have specific guidelines to follow for the transfer period, as outlined by the organization.

Registered candidates will receive final event details via email after 3 p.m. on Friday, April 19, to prepare them for the Campus Hiring Event on April 20.
