Houston Independent School District (HISD) is set to host a Hiring Event for non-Non-English Speaking (NES) campus positions in the upcoming academic year. The event is scheduled for Saturday, April 6, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Chávez High School, located at 8501 Howard Drive, 77017.

Educators are encouraged to attend and discover more about Team HISD and the impactful, student-centered work being carried out. The event will showcase key compensation highlights, including a starting teacher salary of $64,000, a starting Special Education teacher salary of $80,000, and a $5,000 bilingual stipend.

Various position types are welcome at the event, such as teachers, assistant principals, counselors, librarians/media specialists, nurses, office support staff, and teacher assistants. External applicants are reminded to complete the online application process and necessary steps before the event to avoid any delays in potential job offers.

For internal HISD applicants, current district employees in Chapter 21 contract positions have the opportunity to explore non-NES HISD campus openings for the 2024-2025 school year. These employees are not required to apply through the HISD application system this year. Additionally, details about the transfer portal are accessible via MyHISD.

After registering for the event, candidates will receive final details via email after 3 p.m. on Friday, April 5.

In preparation for the event, HISD is committed to providing a platform for educators to engage with potential opportunities and network within the district.
