Seattle-based fashion retailer Nordstrom has announced that Houston will be the next location for one of its new branches. The store, which is to be situated in Texas' largest city, is scheduled to open next fall, as stated by the company.

According to Nordstrom, the forthcoming 34,000-square-foot Houston store will be located in the Meyerland Plaza neighborhood near the Texas Medical Center (TMC). The company's representative Lionello described it as a place where customers can "take advantage of our convenient services such as online order pick up from both Nordstrom.com and NordstromRack.com."

The release also mentioned that the new Nordstrom branch will be located close to other establishments in the area such as Target, Dick's Sporting Goods, JCPenney, Ross, Marshalls and Old Navy near Loop 610 and Beechnut Street.

"We are very excited that Nordstrom Rack will soon be joining Meyerland Plaza, the most visited open-air retail center in Houston," said Lynn Davis, Co-President and Chief Leasing and Developmental Officer. "Our customers enjoy a wide variety of shopping, and the sophisticated offerings of Nordstrom Rack will provide an additional facet to their experience."

The press release further noted that Nordstrom’s corporate presence in Texas includes 31 stores, representing a combined workforce of over 4,000 jobs statewide.
