Dina Powell McCormick to join ExxonMobil board of directors

Exxon Mobil Corporation announced the appointment of Dina Powell McCormick to its board of directors. She serves as the vice chairman, president, and global head of Client Services at BDT & MSD Partners, according to a press release by Exxon Mobil Corporation.

Dina Powell McCormick is currently serving as the chairman of the Robin Hood Foundation Board. She also holds positions as a trustee on various boards, including the National Geographic Society, Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, and Mt. Sinai Health System. Having spent 16 years at The Goldman Sachs Group Inc., notably as a member of its Management Committee, she has an extensive background in both the private sector and the U.S. Government. Her roles include Assistant to the President and Deputy National Security Advisor, said Exxon Mobil Corporation in their press release.

“Dina is a distinguished executive with a rare level of geopolitical, national security and economic experience,” said Darren Woods, ExxonMobil Chairman and CEO. “She has served two U.S presidents in diplomatic and national security roles and, more recently, led Goldman Sachs’ sustainability efforts. These experiences make her an ideal fit for the ExxonMobil boardroom. Joseph Hooley, lead independent director for Exxon Mobil Corporation also expressed his thoughts on her appointment stating that they welcome Dina to the ExxonMobil Board as they execute their strategy to grow shareholder value while playing a crucial role in lower-emissions future; providing reliable energy products that world needs," stated in another press release by Exxon Mobil Corporation.
