Robert L. “Bobby” Moody, a longtime financial titan in the city of Galveston, has passed away at the age of 88, his family’s namesake charity organization, Moody Foundation, announced in a Nov. 8 Facebook post. His children, Ross Moody and Frances Moody-Dahlberg, remembered their father as a tireless hard worker who preferred to stay away from the limelight, per the post.
“My father’s hometown of Galveston would look very different had he not brought his ideas to fruition,” said Moody-Dahlberg in the post. Houston ABC station KTRK News reported that Moody's cause of death is unknown.
An announcement posted on the Legacy website by Carnes Brothers Funeral Home said that funeral services for Moody will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church in Galveston at 1 p.m. on Nov. 21 followed by interment at Galveston Memorial Park in Hitchcock. The Moody family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Nov. 20 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
KTRK reported that Moody served as a trustee and financial strategist for Moody Foundation for 30 years until his retirement in 2015.
