Southwest Management District Board of Directors met Sept. 25.
Here is the agenda provided by the board:
1. Determine quorum; call meeting to order.
2. Receive public comments. (A statement of no more than 3 minutes may be made on items of general relevance. There will be no yielding of time to another person. State law prohibits the Board Chair or members of the Board from commenting on any statement or engaging in dialogue without an appropriate agenda item being posted in accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Law. Comments should be directed to the entire Board, not individual members. Engaging in verbal attacks or comments intended to insult, abuse, malign or slander any individual shall be cause for termination of time privileges).
3. Accept Oath of Office, Sworn Statement and Bond of newly appointed Board Member Dawn Lin.
4. Adopt List of Local Government Officers Pursuant to Local Government Code, Chapter 176.0065.
5. Approve Minutes of a special meeting held September 11, 2023.
6. Receive update and recommendations from Finance Committee
a. Receive Assessment Collection Report.
b. Receive monthly financial report and approve payment of invoices.
c. Authorize Executive Director to set date, time, place and appoint Hearing Examiner for hearing on supplemental assessment roll.
7. Authorize execution of Amendment to Information Form
8. Receive update and recommendations from Business and Economic Development Committee.
a. Consider sponsorship request from CHAT for their Fall Festival on October 28, 2023, at at 6500 Rookin St Houston, TX 77074.
b. Consider sponsorship request from Houston Fire Department for their Operation Stocking Stuffer Toy Drive on Saturday, December 16th – Event Day at 2000 Reed Road, Houston, TX 77051
c. Consider sponsorship request from Indian Film Festival for their 16th Annual Indian Fil Festival of Houston on February 23rd and 24th at Texas Asia Society.
d. Consider sponsorship request from C.A.R.E. for their Spark of Love Christmas Toy Event on December 16, 2023, at 6400 High Star Houston, TX 77074.
e. Consider sponsorship request from Asia Society Texas for their Annual Night Market on November 01, 2023, at 1370 Southmoore Blvd. Houston, TX 77004.
f. Consider placing a Chinese Yellow Page ad with World Journal.
9. Receive update and recommendations from Public Safety Committee.
10. Receive update and recommendations from Environmental and Urban Design Committee.
a. Consider Task Order with William Architectural Signage & Consulting to replace the street signs to Houston Christian University.
11. Receive Executive Director’s Report.
12. Adjourn.
