Houston Hospitality Alliance (HHA), formerly known as the Greater Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau, has announced the appointment of Jonathan Horowitz as its inaugural president. The news was revealed in a press release on September 29th.

Reginald L. Martin, who chairs HHA's board of directors, expressed his excitement about the appointment. "We have taken significant strides this year to position the Houston Hospitality Alliance for success in its next chapter," said Martin. "We are thrilled to have Jonathan lead HHA in representing, promoting and advocating for Houston's restaurants, hotels, bars, arts and entertainment venues, attractions, and related businesses."

Horowitz brings a wealth of experience to his new role. He is the founder of Convive Hospitality Consulting and has held leadership positions with prominent organizations in the Houston hospitality industry, including Buffalo Bayou Brewing Company, Legacy Restaurants, and Lasco Enterprises. Horowitz has been actively involved in the industry for approximately 20 years and has served on not-for-profit boards, including a two-year term as board president for the Greater Houston Restaurant Association. Currently, he is serving a one-year term as chair of the board for the Texas Restaurant Association.

In response to his appointment, Horowitz expressed his gratitude and eagerness to take on the new responsibility. "I am deeply honored by this appointment," he said. "It is a tremendous responsibility that I cannot wait to tackle. I have experienced first-hand the resilience of this industry in Houston and seen our restaurants, bars, hotels, arts organizations, and venues receive the national and international recognition they rightly deserve. I envision the HHA as the driving force behind showcasing the city's incredible diversity and attracting visitors from around the world to experience all of our remarkable offerings."

The press release also mentioned that HHA, a non-profit trade organization, was launched last April.
