Houston philanthropist Roderick Batson and his business partners have recently opened Essential Speech and ABA Clinic in Cypress, Texas, to provide support and therapy for children with special needs. Batson, who has a personal connection to individuals with special needs, hopes that the clinic will help children grow, learn, and acquire the necessary skills they need.

Batson's passion for helping those with special needs was sparked by his late cousin, who inspired him with his determination to thrive in life. He explains, "Seeing his efforts to thrive in life motivated me to help others that may share similar experiences." With Essential Speech and ABA Clinic, Batson aims to create a nurturing environment where children can receive the support they need.

Batson is also the owner of Howdy Homemade Ice Cream, a business that has been providing job opportunities for individuals with autism and disabilities for several years. Through his experience working with people with disabilities, he developed a deep affinity for the community and recognized the need for further support.

The grand opening of Essential Speech and ABA Clinic took place on Sept. 17 and featured a family-friendly community event. Attendees enjoyed food trucks, a car show, snow cones, face painting, tours of the facility, and even a train ride around the premises. The event aimed to create a joyful and inclusive atmosphere for families.

Essential Speech and ABA Clinic offers a range of therapies, including skills therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, and applied behavior analysis therapy. Each child at the clinic will have their own personal therapist who will cater to their individual needs and skills. By bringing these different therapies under one roof, the clinic aims to streamline and improve the process for parents seeking help for their children.

The clinic is open to children between the ages of 18 months and 6 years old. Essential Speech and ABA Clinic emphasizes the importance of providing comprehensive care by combining applied behavior analysis therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy in one organization.

Through the establishment of Essential Speech and ABA Clinic, Roderick Batson and his partners hope to make a difference in the lives of children with special needs, providing them with the necessary tools and support to thrive.
