Girl Boss Suites hosted their inaugural Girl Boss Awards at The Post Oak Hilton in Houston on Sept. 2. The award ceremony celebrated and honored local businesswomen.
Since the beginning of summer, Houston residents were able to nominate local businesswomen who should be honored at the first Girl Boss Awards, and the nominees reflected a wide range of businesses, from boutique owners to hairstylists, in a variety of fields, such as transportation and beauty experts.
Girl Boss Suites nominated over 30 women for these awards, and gave them the full red carpet experience. The ceremony was a striking affair, with tables being filled with nominees and their guests, families and friends providing support. Music for the event was provided by DJ Jordan.
Berry Dynamic served as the hostess of the night’s ceremony, and every winner gave their gratitude toward Girl Boss Suites as the night of celebration went on. Winners shared their journeys, how they got to where they are today as leaders of entrepreneurship, gave stories of the difficult paths they had and celebrated the honor.
The night ended with “networking, dancing and sharing of business advice from one Girl Boss to the other.”
Among the winners and honorees were Cheri Green, who won the Inspirational Woman of the Year award; Sherice Sheppard, the founder and owner of Pillow Talk Houston, who won the Girl Boss of the Year award; and radio personality Keisha Nicole, who was nominated for the Girl Boss Awards Media Mogul award.
