Professional Janitorial Service (PJS) celebrated a community engagement milestone by hosting its annual back-to-school backpack event for the 20th consecutive year. The event for the children of PJS employees took place on August 12 at the company’s new location on Milwee Street.

To commemorate the tradition, PJS purchased 850 backpacks, 650 of which were provided to students at the event. Every backpack included essential school supplies, along with the option for students to select a notebook and water bottle.

CEO Floyd Mahanay said, “the backpack event has become a great opportunity to get our PJS family together for a fun-filled day. The event allows us to give back to our employees and their families by giving them a head start in their school year.”

The company event was attended by more than 250 children, PJS managers, staff, and community supporters. The event included music, balloons, ace painting, and snacks at the new PJS office located at 4801 Milwee Street.

PJS is dedicated to supporting the Houston community through its annual backpack event and many other initiatives.
