Brays Oaks Management District Board of Directors met Aug. 15.
Here is the agenda provided by the board:
1. Determine quorum; call meeting to order.
2. Receive public comments. (A statement of no more than 3 minutes may be made on items of general relevance. There will be no yielding of time to another person. State law prohibits the Board Chair or members of the Board from commenting on any statement or engaging in dialogue without an appropriate agenda item being posted in accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Law, Comments should be directed to the entire Board, not individual members. Engaging in verbal attacks or comments intended to insult, abuse malign or slander any individual shall be cause for termination of time privilege).
3. Approve Minutes of meeting held on July 18, 2023.
4. Approve Amendment to Information Form.
5. Receive Assessment Collection Report.
6. Receive monthly financial report and approve invoices for payment.
7. Receive update and recommendations from Business and Economic Development Committee.
a. Consider planting a memorial tree and placement of a plaque in remembrance of Houston Police Sergent Kelvin “KJ” Jerome Johnson.
8. Receive update and recommendations from Public Safety Committee.
a. Consider sponsorship of the Houston Police Department’s “H-Town’s Rising Stars” Fundraising Gala not to exceed $1800.
b. Consider support funding for HPD emergency preparedness program.
c. Consider support funding for HPD S. Gessner Gang Division attendance to the 2023 RIOT Convention.
d. Consider distribution of approved support funding for HPD Overtime Program.
9. Receive update and recommendations from Beautification and Urban Design Committee.
a. Consider proposal for repairs to damaged BOMD monument at South Gessner and Braeswood.
b. Consider proposal from the Houston Parks and Recreation Department to accept Council District funds in the amount of $25,000 for a construction project at the Willow Waterhole.
c. Consider policy to allow BOMD executive director to authorize repairs of district assets without board action.
10. Receive update from Infrastructure Committee.
11. Receive Executive Director’s Report.
