Another arrest has been made in the case of a fatal mass shooting in San Jacinto County, according to reports from Houston-based media outlets.

A little more than 12 hours after suspected gunman Francisco Oropesa was apprehended following a four-day manhunt, a woman identified as his wife was nabbed by law enforcement.

According to an Associated Press story that was run by Houston CW affiliate KIAH, 53-year-old Divimara Lamar Nava was arrested in connection with Friday’s incident that claimed the lives of five people, including an elementary school student who was supposedly playmates with Oropesa’s son.

The AP reported that while Montgomery County Sheriff Rand Henderson tagged Nava as the suspect’s spouse, jail records indicate that she isn’t legally married.

Houston ABC affiliate KTRK reported that the 38-year-old Oropesa was found hiding under a pile of laundry in a Cut and Shoot house at the time authorities located and took him into custody.

He faces five murder charges in the deaths of third-grader Daniel Enrique Lazo Guzmán, 21-year-old Diana Velasquez Alvarado, 31-year-old Obdulia Molina Rivera, 25-year-old Sonia Argentina Guzmán Taibot and 18-year-old Josué Jonatan Cáceres.

Authorities alleged that Oropesa opened fire on his neighbors after he was told to stop his firearm so the family could get some sleep.

Nava is accused of hindering apprehension of a felon, with San Jacinto County District Attorney (DA) Todd Dillon saying she was present during Oropesa’s attempt to hide, KTRK reported.

"We believe that Nava was providing him with material aid and encouragement, food and clothes, and had arranged transport to this house," Dillon said, Reuters reported

According to Reuters, a friend of Oropesa’s was also arrested and is facing a marijuana charge, with authorities accusing him of helping the suspect escape the scene of the crime.

Citing San Jacinto County Sheriff Greg Capers, Reuters reported that Oropesa supposedly shot most of the victims in the head.

The suspect was believed to have been on good terms with the victims at the time of the shooting.

Oropesa is a native of Mexico who has been deported from the U.S. four times.

It’s unclear as to what his present immigration status is as Gov. Greg Abbott had to backtrack his remarks that the victims were in the country illegally, Houston Daily reported.
