A Houston-based fitness franchise is opening its second branch in Pearland, according to a press release.
Iron 24 Fitness + Recovery said that a grand opening for the new gym at 5700 Broadway St. is slated for Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
"We're excited to bring the Iron 24 experience to the Pearland community, our hometown," company founder David Graham said in the release. "The opening of the Iron 24 location in Pearland is a big step in our continued expansion throughout greater Houston and nationwide. With several new locations coming soon, Iron 24 is making fitness more accessible across the country."
Iron 24 touts itself as being different from the traditional gym, saying it offers people “a 100% digital gym experience” that’s affordable and accessible.
An example of this is its app, the release said, which prospective customers are instructed to download to access the facility around the clock.
They can also apply for the “Fitness + Recovery” membership through the app if they choose.
Per Iron 24, the 24-hour Pearland location will feature treadmills, ellipticals and free weights.
An addition to the inaugural branch in Conroe that opened earlier this year, the gym is one of two to call Pearland home, with the second of these to open next month.
The company said that it has its eye on future openings throughout the Houston area for much of this year, with plans to expand its footprint across Texas, Florida and even north of the border in Canada.
“Entrepreneurs throughout the country are seeing the value in our model, with gyms in development,” the Iron 24 website said.
Iron 24, which belongs to Pearland-based FranchiCzar that’s also founded by Graham, encourages new members to take advantage of temporarily low prices as part of the grand opening celebration.
A raffle during the weekend will determine who goes home with a free membership.
