A popular California-based fast-food company has announced that it plans to open a restaurant in Houston’s NASA/Clear Lake area, Houston-based media outlets reported.

The new In-N-Out eatery in Webster will bring the total of restaurants in the Houston market to five, per a report from Houston NBC affiliate KPRC.

A ubiquitous sight in the Golden State just like purported rival Whataburger is in Texas, In-N-Out is famous for animal fries and double-double cheeseburgers.

KPRC reported that the outpost will be located at 122 El Dorado Blvd., which is in the vicinity of Baybrook Mall.

The Lone Star State accounts for 41 establishments, or 11% of In-N-Out’s footprint, which includes a majority of the West Coast, as of last month, per data company ScrapeHero.

Mike Abbate, In-N-Out’s assistant vice president of real estate and development, said an opening date has yet to be determined, Houston ABC affiliate KTRK reported.

"We appreciate our customers in Houston who have shared their anticipation with us, and we're hopeful that we'll be able to better serve them with this great additional location," Abbate said in the report.

He added that it takes up to nine months after groundbreaking for a restaurant to be built and open for business.

"Because of the amount of construction that still needs to take place, it isn't yet possible to nail down a precise opening date," Abbate said, per KTRK.

KPRC reported that the Houston area’s current franchises in include Katy, Stafford, The Woodlands and FM 1960.
