It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Lee Luke (Houston, Texas), who passed away on March 18, 2023, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Mannie Lacy and Johnnie Mae Lacy; her husband Sammie Luke, Jr.; her brothers, Claude Lacy, G. W. Lacy and Barkley Lacy; her sons, Larry Lacy Sr., Parker Luke, Reginald Luke, Sr. and Sammie Howard Luke (SugarMan); her sons-in-law, Leroy Dixon, Sr. and Kenneth of Washington; her grandson Darby Trent Eagleton; and her nephew Claude Lacy, Jr..
She is survived by : her children, Cora Dixon, Charles Luke (Elsie), Arthur Luke, Debra Luke, Johnnie of Washington, Retta Justice (Richard), Betty Eagleton (Gerald) and Timothy (Trevette); her sister-in-law Della Lacy (Grand); and her friend Margie Jackson. She is also survived by Great Grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews.
Viewing will be held on Friday, March 24th 2023 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the St. John Missionary Baptist Church (3023 Amboy St, Houston, TX 77026). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 25th 2023 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, March 28th 2023 at 10:00 AM at the Houston National Cemetery (10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77038).
