Launched internationally in 2009, National Purple Day is also a day The Epilepsy Association of The Maritimes joined forces with The Anita Kaufmann Foundation supporting Epilepsy Awareness. There are approximately 50 million people around the world living with epilepsy making it one of the most common neurological diseases globally. The foundations believed the day should be committed to partnering with individuals and organizations around the world to promote epilepsy awareness.
