She was predeceased by : her father William Stermer. She is survived by : her mother Susan Stermer; her sister Stacy Krout; her aunt Wanda; her uncle David Kurtz; and her cousins, Jessica and Kimberly.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, March 1st 2023 at 9:30 AM at the St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church (3131 El Dorado Blvd, Houston, TX 77059). A funeral mass was held on Wednesday, March 1st 2023 at 10:30 AM at the same location.

Cathy's family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to her two favorite charities for children (St. Jude Children's Research Hospital – http://fundraising.stjude.org) and animals (Best Friends Animal Society – https://bestfriends.org).
