Commission Action: Approved the October 20, 2022 Houston Archeological and Historical Commission (HAHC) meeting minutes.

Motion by Commissioner McNiel, seconded by Jones. Motion carried unanimously.

Commission action: Deferred the Certificate of Appropriateness.

Motion by Commissioner Yap, seconded by Koush. Motion carried unanimously. Speaker: Cory P. Decuire, applicant – supportive

A-14. 1029 Arlington St - Alteration – Addition - Houston Heights South - Approval with Conditions

Staff recommendation: Approve the Certificate of Appropriateness with conditions per staff report. Commission action: Approved the Certificate of Appropriateness as submitted by applicant. Motion by Commissioner Koush, seconded by Curry. Motion carried with Commissioner Yap opposed.

B. COMMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC

C. COMMENTS FROM THE HAHC

Commissioners Yap, Cosgrove and McNiel commented about prior owners’ allowing deterioration of historic structures and asked about possible corrective measures.

D. HISTORIC PRESERVATION OFFICER’S REPORT

Roman McAllen reported good news about the Texas General Land Office (GLO) funding Harvey repairs of historic projects, as spearheaded by outgoing staff member Amanda Coleman. He thanked her for her service and work. Ms. Coleman also commented. Mr. McAllen also informed the Commissioners of staff member Yasmin Arslan’s return from maternity leave.
