CHARLIE
Save this pet
Charlie went on a Doggy Day Out and here is what our volunteer had to say about this fella!
I can't believe Charlie was returned for being "too much"! Too much what?? Too much love, too much happiness, too much adventure? Charlie is a wonderful dog with an absolutely charming personality! He'd be the perfect adventure buddy for someone who loves to go places with their pup.
Charlie:
- Takes treats gently
- Walks well on leash (8 out of 10 stars)
- Rides well in the car with seatbelt
- Sits to be pet
- Loves meeting new humans
- Is super photogenic
- Does great in public spaces
- Cares more about love/attention than toys
- Is easy to redirect
Charlie did 'warn bark' at an off-leash dog that was running directly towards him at the park, but he immediately calmed himself down once the dog changed direction. Charlie did not have any negative reactions to on-leash dogs at the park or store! (Dogs were at a short distance, no nose-to-nose introductions.)
Two small/loud children ran up on us from behind on a narrow park path and Charlie did AMAZING! He let himself be maneuvered to the side and calmly waited for the kids to pass, even when one child reached out as if to pet/grab Charlie while they ran by. Charlie is a champ!
