1) Director’s Report. Director David Fields gave the Director’s Report: 

• Update on BFC application. We are submitting for silver status. Thank you to all staff and partners that have help gather information towards this goal.

• Introduction of GHORBA to BAC.

2) Chair’s Report. Co-Chair Perez gave the Chair’s Report:

3) Public Comment:

• Ed Pettie – Successful 3rd Ward on Tap Event in May. More information can be found here: 3rd Ward on Tap Event

Ricky Cardenas Jr – Would like the BAC to look into adding Commerce Street to the Bike plan. It could connect Harrisburg Trail on the west end and on the eastern is the Austin Street Bike path.

4) Strategic Bikeways Improvements presented by David Fields:

5) Westchase Management District Infrastructure Updates. Brian Dotson gave a presentation on new and upcoming bikeways projects planned for the Westchase area.

• Projects recently completed/underway:

i. On-Street: Westpark to BW8 via Walnut Bend, Blue Willow and Deerwood.

ii. Sidepath: City West Boulevard by Westchase Management District completed 2022.

iii. Sidepath: Westheimer to Gessner P&R on Elmside-Woodchase Trail.

• Announcements:

o Name the Sweeper Contest

1. Houston Public Works is getting a new Mini Street Sweeper later this fall and we’d like YOU to help us name it. The sweeper will be used to clean areas around Houston where our larger sweepers are unable to reach, including bike lanes, curbs, pedestrian refuge islands, special events, etc.

2. Submit your ideas online at: https://www.engagehouston.org/sweeper-contest

3. Last date to submit entries is Tuesday, September 6, 2022.
