A Houston certified public accountant (CPA) firm announced leadership changes, according to a press release.
Maddox, Thomson & Associates (MTA) tabbed partner Rebecca McElroy, CPA, as president and partner Jennifer Youngblood, CPA, as vice president, the release said.
Ex-MTA president Larry Maddox said in the release that McElroy and Youngblood will ensure the firm continues to prioritize its clientele.
“We are proud of the leadership transition for the firm,” Maddox said. “With client service remaining a top priority, Rebecca and Jennifer bring unmatched sophistication in supporting existing clients and an energetic vision to take advantage of future growth opportunities.”
Both women have worked at MTA for more than a decade, the firm said.
“Rebecca and Jennifer have served the firm for a combined 20-plus years,” former MTA vice president Joe Thomson said in the release. “Their seamless ability to address complex business issues, especially in today’s unpredictable environment, will take the firm well into the future.”
Per the release, McElroy joined the firm in 2011, and as president, will oversee its accounting and tax practices, as well as its future growth.
“We are excited about the opportunities that lie ahead for our clients and MTA,” she said, per MTA. “I have had the distinct pleasure of working alongside Larry Maddox and Joe Thomson for more than a decade, and I am honored to lead the firm going forward. Our firm is committed to excellence, and we will continue to focus on delivering trusted tax solutions for our clients.”
The release said that Youngblood came aboard in 2013. Her responsibilities as vice president include co-leading MTA’s accounting and tax practices in addition to providing clientele with support in regard to tax compliance and tax planning, the firm said.
According to the release, McElroy and Youngblood are graduates of the University of Houston (UH).
