Harris-Galveston Subsidence District Board of Directors met July 13.

MEMBERS OF THE BOARD PRESENT: Emily Anderson, Pete Cite, Steve Gillett, Don Johnson, Ken Keller, Jason Long, Craig Lovell, Shannon Lucas, Katherine Mears, Lindy Murff, Alan Petrov, Melinda Salazar, Kyle Sears
MEMBERS OF THE BOARD ABSENT: Rosa Alvarez, Susan Baird, Sarah Benavides, Augustus Campbell, Chris Canonico, Shaun Theriot-Smith
PRESIDING: Alan Petrov, Chairman
1. CALL TO ORDER OF THE REGULAR BOARD MEETING. Chairman Petrov called the regular meeting of the Board of Directors to order at 10:02 a.m. and noted the presence of a quorum. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
2. ACCEPT COMMENTS FROM MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC. None.
3. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES OF THE REGULAR BOARD MEETING OF JUNE 8, 2022. Mr. Johnson moved that the minutes of the regular meeting of June 8, 2022, be approved; it was seconded by Ms. Mears. Chairman Petrov put the question, and after the vote, announced the motion carried. None opposed. Ms. Benavides and Ms. Alvarez are now present.
4. HEARING EXAMINERS REPORT. Ms. Helen Stewart Truscott presented the Hearing Examiner's Report for June 2022, including revisions for Jelliff Family Trust, Martha E. Luna, Alejandro Santacruz, Abdee ShariTan, and Denise Villalobos. Ms. Anderson moved to accept the Hearing Examiner's recommendations as amended; it was seconded by Mr. Cite. Chairman Petrov called for abstentions. Ms. Lucas abstained from Harris Co. M.U.D. 559 c/o ABHR and Harris County M.U.D. 82. Chairman Petrov put the question, and after the vote, announced the motion carried. None opposed. Mr. Theriot-Smith is now present.
5. EMERGENCY PERMITS. The Board considered the General Manager's action in granting emergency permits to Maria Castro, Certified Pipe Service Houston, Inc., Drymalla Construction, GH Blackhawk, and HMW Special U.D. There were no motions to review the actions of the General Manager.
6. RECEIVE BRIEFING FROM ST AFF ON THE ST ATUS OF THE JOINT REGULATORY PLAN. Ashley Greuter, Interim Deputy General Manager, briefed the Board on the status of the Joint Regulatory Plan Review. Ms. Baird is now present.
7. GENERAL MANAGER'S REPORT. Mr. Turco submitted the General Manager's Report. (The General Manager's Report is in full in the official records of the Harris-Galveston Subsidence District as part of the Board's Agenda Packet for this meeting.)
8. LEGAL MATTERS. Mr. Ellis updated the Board on recent litigation on groundwater issues.
9. EXECUTIVE SESSION. None.
