A Southern California-based fast casual fried chicken sandwich chain has opened its second overall restaurant in Houston, per a report from Houston NBC affiliate KPRC.

The new 2,400-square-foot Daddy’s Chicken Shack is located at 1223 W. 11th St. in the Heights and will serve as the company’s epicenter of operations, KPRC reported.

Interestingly enough, Daddy’s Chicken Shack was started in Pasadena, California by a native Houstonian, Pace Webb, and her husband, Chris Georgalas, nearly half a decade ago, the report said.

“We’re so humbled and excited to bring this concept to Houston, not only because I grew up not far from here, but because Houston is well-known for its diversity and culinary scene,” Webb said, KPRC reported. “We look forward to serving Heights residents and beyond by delivering accessible, chef-driven fried chicken sandwiches, while honoring our commitment to sustainability and creating a warm, welcoming environment for all.”

According to the station, the restaurant serves items that bring the American South and Southeast Asia together.

Among the sandwiches it touts include the Big Daddy Chicken Sandwich, which has Napa slaw and sriracha mayonnaise; the All-American Chicken Sandwich, which is also laced with Napa slaw and contains bacon, pickles and remoulade sauce; and the Nashville Daddy Chicken Sandwich, which is anchored by a big piece of Nashville hot chicken and filled with slaw, house-made pickles and remoulade sauce, KPRC reported.

The report said that Daddy’s Chicken Shack will also offer all-day breakfast items, as well as chicken fingers and popcorn chicken.

The Houston branch, which is part of the company’s plans to expand with Colorado and Florida next on the list, is open from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week.
