Bubbly Paws, a Minneapolis-based self-service dog wash and full-service dog grooming salon, plans to open a new franchise in Houston early next year, according to a press release.

The release said that the company intends to open several more stores in the Houston area following the first location, which is currently in the concept stage.

"This is the biggest commitment we have received from a franchisee, and we are so honored that they put their trust into our system to grow in Houston,” Bubbly Paws co-founder and co-owner Keith Miller said in the release. “I remember the first time I met [franchisees] Chris and Laura [Hedge] in Minneapolis and toured them through all our stores. I realized immediately how amazing they would be as franchise owners.”

According to Bubbly Paws, Houston will join a roster of cities with franchises in the works such as Charlotte; Dallas; Long Island, New York; and Stuart, Florida.

Corporate base Minneapolis is home to four stores, including the original location that was opened in 2011, while another is located in Boise, Idaho, the release said.

Laura Hedge co-owns the Houston franchise with spouse Chris.

“What I love about Bubbly Paws is the positive nature of the brand and the business,” she said in the release. “How can you not smile when you hear the name and picture puppy dogs lathered in soap? Dogs have unconditional love for their owners and having a business that caters to caring for someone’s family member makes us happy.”

According to the Bubbly Paws website, the business offers three types of service to canines and their owners: Self-service bath, full-service bath and grooming.

The company said that each of its salons feature “plenty of windows” that puts its work “on full display.”

“We make dogs look and feel their best by communicating with their owners and delivering the best customer service possible,” Bubbly Paws said on its website.
