The Houston Symphony will host a concert called "Fiesta Sinfónica," a show to celebrate Hispanic cultural music featuring famous Latin composers on Nov. 4.

The Houston Symphony is bringing back "Fiesta Sinfónica" to commend Hispanic composers from around the world, according to a Facebook post from Sept. 14. "Fiesta Sinfónica" means "symphony party."

The 2022 program will feature composers Rodrígues, Márquez, Sorozábal, Bernstein/Ross Grever/Flores, Lara/Ferrer, Pizzolla/Delaney and Ginastera. The music will include selections from "West Side Story," "Danzas del Ballet Estancia," "Danzón No. 2" and many more.

The event is at 7:30 p.m. at Jones Hall. It is completely free but ticket reservations are required and can be reserved on the Houston Symphony website or by calling the box office at 713-224-7575. It is sponsored by Chevron, Univision Houston and 106.5 FM.

The Houston Symphony is a concert hall dedicated to the values of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), according to their website. The mission statement reads "to inspire and engage a large and diverse audience in Greater Houston and beyond through exceptional orchestral and non-orchestral performances, educational programs and community activities." The Houston Symphony is committed to putting on more performances by women and people of color to promote DEI values.

Visitors are able to subscribe to a mix-and-match package that, according to the Houston Symphony website, "you can access every concert at up to 25% off single ticket prices." There is also an option to subscribe to the newsletter for future events.
