It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Samuel Thomas McBurnett (Houston, Texas), who passed away on August 27, 2022, at the age of 21, leaving to mourn family and friends. He is survived by : his significant other Camille; his parents, Matt McBurnett and Jennifer McBurnett; his brother Jack McBurnett; his grandparents, Marvin, Charlotte Jeffus, Shiela Ferguson and Mark McBurnett; his uncle Jason Jeffus; his aunt Nara Jeffus; and his cousins, Liam and Mina Jeffus.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 10th 2022 at 3:30 PM at the Clear Lake Presbyterian Church (1511 El Dorado Blvd, Houston, TX 77062).
Most recently, he conducted undergraduate nuclear research with the UT ME Department, assisting the Nuclear Engineering Teaching Lab during the school year and interning at Los Alamos National Laboratory over the summer, being named a winner in the 2022 LANL Student Symposium for his significant contributions to a cutting-edge computer algorithm used to design radiation shields using artificial intelligence.
