We are sad to announce that on August 10, 2022, at the age of 89, Gussie Mae Steptoe in Houston, Texas passed away. Family and friends can send flowers and condolences in memory of the loved one. She was predeceased by : her parents, Crawley Alexander and Gussie Mae Ellis; her husband Arthur J. Steptoe Sr.; her sons, Michael and Daryl Steptoe; and her brothers, Bobbie McClure, Edward and Harold Alexander.

She is survived by : her children, Ronald Steptoe Sr., Larry Steptoe Sr. and Pamela Hanks; her grandchildren, Sherry Holland, Ronald Steptoe Jr., Rona Steptoe, Obie Hanks Jr. (Jamie), Nickie Singleton, Larry Steptoe Jr., Valerie Steptoe, Tia Steptoe, Tangela Hanks, Devin Steptoe and Chasity Steptoe; her daughter-in-law Renee Steptoe (Anita Alexander Owens); and her nieces, Bobbie Renee McClure Floyd and Birmingham. She is also survived by 21 great grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 20th 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Paradise Funeral Home (10401 W Montgomery Rd, Houston, TX 77088). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 20th 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A committal service will be held on Saturday, August 20th 2022 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at the Paradise Cemetery North (10401 W Montgomery Rd, Houston, TX 77088).
