#WKNDRENT, the newest peer-to-peer rental reservation platform (also called #WKND) is set to significantly reduce costs in the travel industry.

With no guest service fees, a zero-cost listing plan and no commissions on reservations, #WKND will offer dramatic savings for both providers and travelers for short-term accommodations.

Short-term accommodations on the platform—which can span from one hour up to one month—will consist of apartments, houses, boutique hotels, resorts, bed and breakfasts, luxury camping, RVs, tree houses and vacation rentals; a recent press release from the company said. As a added bonus, #WKND provides fee-based plans and upgrades, which moves listings for a certain geographic region to the top of the list.

“Diversity, equity, equality and inclusion aren’t built into this company as an afterthought,” Christopher Stevenson, founder and CEO, said in the release. “We take supplier diversity at #WKND very seriously to ensure that the people from our supply base are reflective of the customers and communities we serve. Among our top priorities is establishing and supporting partnerships with small businesses that come from diverse backgrounds and growing together with these businesses.”

Stevenson also wants the company to adjust to the desires of its customers.

“It is our responsibility to anticipate changing preferences of guests as an emerging industry leader in the alternative accommodations sphere,” he said. “It is crucial that we elevate our site user, traveler and host experience in all aspects — whether in the way we deliver products and services or in the way we engage and even transact with our customers. Our aim is to accelerate innovation in the short-term accommodations arena.”

The possibility of tokens being introduced was also addressed.

"I thought about the possibility of creating an ERC20 token for the platform," Stevenson said. "You’ll have to wait a few weeks for future announcements from us concerning this topic."

#WKND’s official website will launch Aug. 1, and a mobile application for Apple and Android users is being developed. It is a new online community.
