With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Allan Edwin Kean Jr. of Houston, Texas, who passed away on June 28, 2022 at the age of 68. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Allan Edwin Kean, Sr. and Stella Anita Sale Kean; and his sister Karen Kay Kean Rice. He is survived by : his wife Martha Kean of Spartanburg; his sisters, Donna Lee Kean Young of Dublin and Sandra Lynn Kean Hlipala of Washington, Pennsylvania; his son Aaron Kyle Kean (Summer Swearingen Kean); his granddaughter Violet Joyce Kean; his step-sons, John Dennis O'Connell Jr. (Stefanie Shaw O'Connell) of Mansfield, Jeffery Scott O'Connell of Round Rock and William Thomas Atkins Jr. (Tiana Alexandra Atkins) of Flower Mound, Texas; and his step-grandchildren, Arden Grace O'Connell, Dylan Shaw O'Connell, Ryan Alexis O'Connell, Mercer Daniel O'Connell, Reid Victoria O'Connell, Grayson Scott O'Connell, Harper Alexandra Atkins and Hudson William Atkins.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 13th 2022 at 2:00 PM at the Hankmaker Chapel of Second Baptist Church (6400 Woodway Dr, Houston, TX 77057).

He also started his own consulting firm, Sandstone Resources and was an active member of several geological societies in Houston where he gladly donated his time and expertise to others.
