Texas EquuSearch has begun looking for a teacher in the Alvin Independent School District (AISD) who has been missing since Thursday (May 19), Houston-based media outlets reported.

According to Houston CBS affiliate KHOU, 49-year-old Craig Kettler, who teaches agriculture, was last heard from as he left a youth livestock arena near the 600 block of County Road 351 in Brazoria County.

KHOU reported that Kettler stands 5-foot-10 and weighs approximately 220 pounds.

He has mostly white hair, green eyes, a full beard and mustache, according to the station.

Kettler reportedly wore a short-sleeved blue, orange and white plaid shirt and jeans and drives a white 2000 Ford F-250 extended cab truck with a camper attached to the bed and an LD Systems logo on the drivers side door.

EquuSearch and the teacher's family and friends said that it was out of character of him to be missing and not get a hold of anyone, according to KHOU.

AISD issued a statement in response to his disappearance, per the station.

"The safety and security of our students and staff is of utmost importance to Alvin ISD," the ISD said. "We were made aware that one of our employees, Craig Kettler, has not been heard from since Thursday night. Alvin ISD has reached out to the Kettler family and has been assisting the family during this difficult time. If you have any information, please contact the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office."

Houston ABC affiliate KTRK reported that anyone who has seen Kettler or has any information that could be beneficial to the case is urged to contact the Brazoria County Sheriff's Office (BCSO) at (979) 849-2441 or EquuSearch at (281) 309-9500.
