A fast food favorite in the Houston suburb of Bellaire is set to make a comeback, according to reports from Houston-based media outlets.
The shuttered Bellaire Broiler Burger eatery has been purchased by restaurateur Jason Scheinthal, the website Houston Culture Map reported, per Houston NBC affiliate KPRC.
The restaurant closed its doors two years ago when original owner Tom Daneman retired.
According to Houston Culture Map, the establishment bares strong familiarity with Scheinthal and his family.
"This was one of my dad’s favorite burger places," he said in the report. "I remember in college he said, if it were ever for sale, he would want to buy it. When I called him and said it’s for sale, he got really excited."
Scheinthal added that talks with Daneman to acquire the restaurant then commenced and a deal was struck.
KPRC reported that in its previous life, Bellaire Broiler Burger earned a solid following with its cheeseburgers and crinkle-cut fries.
The business will reportedly remain at its original address – 5216 Bellaire Blvd. – and retain Daneman's recipes, according to the station.
Houston ABC affiliate KTRK reported that Scheinthal also plans to revive The Roadster Grill, a Greek place, at the same property.
He told the station the acquisition of Bellaire Broiler Burger is a full circle moment for him as it was a part of his childhood.
