Houston Firefighters Relief and Retirement Fund Board of Trustees met Dec. 16.
Here are the minutes provided by the board:
A special meeting of the Houston Firefighters’ Relief and Retirement Fund (HFRRF) Board of Trustees convened at the Fund offices at 4225 Interwood North Parkway at 9:00 a.m.
Trustees present were Brett R. Besselman (Chair), Stephen R. Whitehead (Vice Chair), Lisa R. Slagle (Secretary), Gerard L. Daniels, Pete Ng, David Riegor, David O. Lantrip, Earnest W. Wotring (Mayor’s Representative), and Albertino “Al” Mays (Citizen Member). Trustee absent was Arif Rasheed (City Treasurer Designee). Also present was Ralph D. Marsh (Special Advisor to Houston Firefighters’ Relief and Retirement Fund).
The Chair called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.
The Chair invited comments from the public. No comments were received. Candidate #1 entered the meeting room at 9:00 a.m.
The Board proceeded to interview Candidate #1.
Earnest W. Wotring entered the meeting room at 9:04 a.m. and David Riegor at 9:32 a.m. Earnest Wotring departed the meeting room at 9:57 a.m. and returned at 9:59 a.m. David O. Lantrip departed the meeting room at 10:08 a.m.
After the interview, Candidate #1 departed the meeting room at 10:13 a.m. The Board recessed at 10:13 a.m. and resumed open session at 10:18 a.m.
Candidate #2 entered the meeting room at 10:32 a.m.
The Board proceeded to interview Candidate #2.
The Chair departed the meeting room at 10:43 a.m. and returned at 10:44 a.m. The Vice Chair departed the meeting room at 11:00 a.m. and returned at 11:01 a.m. After the interview, Candidate #2 departed the meeting room at 11:28 a.m. The Board recessed at 11:28 a.m. and resumed open session at 12:00 p.m. Candidate #3 entered the meeting room at 12:00 p.m.
The Board proceeded to interview Candidate #3 who departed the meeting at 12:45 p.m. after the interview.
David O. Lantrip entered the meeting room at 1:00 p.m.
There was a motion by Stephen R. Whitehead, seconded by David O. Lantrip, to allow the Chairman to negotiate a contract. The motion carried.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 1:04 p.m. on a motion by David O. Lantrip, seconded by Pete Ng. The motion carried.
