The nearly monthlong search for a missing 39-year-old woman from League City has reached a successful conclusion and a happy ending for the woman's family, according to a report from Houston CBS affiliate KHOU. Caroline Gaddis was first reported missing on March 18 and was located in Tennessee last Friday (April 8), the station reported.
Her brother, Brian Gaddis, took to Facebook to express gratitude on behalf of Caroline, who works as a counselor, and the family.
"Caroline has been found!" Brian posted. "She was found safe in Tennessee. She is now with my parents in Houston. I wanted to thank all for your prayers, sharing of information, texts, calls and help of all types. You have no idea how much that has meant to my family and I. You never are ready for something like this, but when it does happen, it’s amazing how quickly people come to aid. Again, so many thanks to everybody who helped. My parents, Caroline and I are eternally grateful."
The Wilson County Sheriff's Office (WCSO) in Tennessee said that Carolyn was found at a Nashville-area gas station, KHOU reported.
According to authorities, she was determined to be OK, per the station.
KHOU reported that Carolyn's last known whereabouts before she disappeared where her office in Galveston. When she didn't show up for work the next day, her employer contacted her parents.
According to KHOU, Carolyn's parents sought assistance from the League City Police Department and EquuSearch.
“There’s just kind of a valley from the beginning and your mind is just spinning,” Bob Gaddis, her father, told the station at the time. “What happened here?”
Investigators combed through her apartment but found no evidence of foul play, KHOU reported.
According to Houston ABC affiliate KTRK, Caroline's difficulty in using her bank card led to a sheriff's deputy discovering the missing persons report filed for her.
The unidentified deputy then helped Caroline get in touch with her then-worried family members in Texas, the station reported.
